Ic Armenia Ongoing Reforms

ASSISTANCE PROGRAM TO ADOPT ISO, ORGANIC, HALAL, GLOBAL G.A.P. CERTIFICATIONS: IC ARMENIA REFORM IS APPROVED BY THE GOVERNMENT OF ARMENIA

The support package, mapped out in the scope SME Public-Private Dialogue Platform and developed with the support of IC Armenia expert team, was discussed at a meeting chaired by the Deputy Prime Minister and approved by the Government.

The goal of the assistance program is to promote the production of agricultural and industrial products and to improve production management systems by partially reimbursing certain expenses related to obtaining certifications.

Discussions with entrepreneurs indicate a growing awareness of the importance of implementing management systems in production. However, due to limited access to financial resources, many are unable to adopt such systems, which negatively affects their growth potential and efforts to improve quality. Statistics also show that the number of companies in Armenia that have implemented internationally recognized quality management systems remains low — both in absolute terms and compared to peer and competitor countries in international trade.

The project will contribute to improving the quality of Armenian companies’ products by implementing quality management systems in their production processes.

The reimbursement is provided in the following amounts:

  • In the case of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certificates, in the amount of 50% of the cost of certification, but not more than 1,000,000 (one million) AMD,
  • In the case of ISO 22000 and FSSC 22000 certificates, in the amount of 50% of the cost of certification, but not more than 1,500,000 (one million five hundred thousand) AMD,
  • In the case of "Global G.A.P.", "HALAL", "organic" and "transition period organic" certificates, in the amount of 50% of the cost of certification, but not more than 1,500,000 (one million five hundred thousand) AMD.
